Ao colocar os cidadãos no centro das suas decisões, a Port Centre Network esforça-se para criar um desenvolvimento sustentável, responsável e inovador.Um exemplo é a iniciativa “Maputo é de todos nós”, lançada pela MPDC em parceria com o Conselho Municipal de Maputo, que visa envolver todos os membros da sociedade na ajuda à limpeza da cidade. A iniciativa também promove uma maior preparação da infraestrutura urbana para lidar com chuvas fortes e mau tempo.Outro projecto da MPDC passa por criar um museu e centro de interpretação para mostrar a história do porto e o seu papel essencial na prosperidade de Maputo dos nossos dias. Jovens arquitectos foram convidados a apresentar ideias para o design do museu, com o apoio do Atelier Architecture, sediado em Maputo. The scheme is also promoting greater preparation of the city’s infrastructure to cope with heavy rain and bad weather.Another MPDC project is creating a museum and interpretation centre to showcase the port’s history and its critical role in the prosperity of modern-day Maputo. Young architects were invited to enter ideas for the design of the museum, with the support of Maputo-based Atelier Architecture.
